Pinch Me!

I feel like the past few days has been a dream.  Did Friday really happen??  I had to get a hold of the adoption worker just to hear her talk and make sure that I didn't imagine it.

No, it's real.  Some new information I found out is the birth family wants no interaction with us at all in the hospital.  We will not be allowed contact with the baby until point of discharge to eliminate the possibility of a run-in with us and the birth family.  Booo!!  That will be hard, but I'm sure we'll survive.

I also asked about the sex of the baby.  That is unknown.  The birthmom doesn't want to know that at this time.

That's the status so far.  I think I'm going to try and get a good night's sleep.  I haven't slept well since Friday!!  Seriously, am I dreaming...someone pinch me!

Our birthmom didn't want any interaction in the hospital either so we didn't get to meet Kaylee until she was being discharged. It wasn't too bad though. Like our social worker told us, we wouldn't be worrying about the birthfamily wanting to spend time with the baby or anything like that... wondering if they were changing their minds. So excited for you!

I have chills. SO EXCITED FOR YOU! Also, guaranteed that whatever the "birth plan" is, it will change. Be prepared to roll with the punches. There is no manual for this type of situation.

How amazing! I'm just catching up. oh how this brings back such happy memories. Our adoption is closed also. We had prepared for an open adoption and then got our call. We never met Ellie's birth mom or dad. We didn't even get Ellie until she was 5 days old. That was a LONG wait.

We do send pics to our agency in case they ever want to get them. Her BD got a packet when she was a newborn, but nothing since then. I'm still hopeful someday they will want to meet their daughter.

I'll be praying for you guys and the birth parents and that the days to go quickly.
